is the Ph.D. Scientist who founded Votechnik for which she has received the Young Entrepreneur of Year Award (2010), Molex-Kriebel Award for Innovation in Global Business and Technology (2010) and the JCI Outstanding Young Person of the Year Award in Science and Technology in Ireland (2011).
Dr. O’Donoghue holds a first class honours degree in Materials Science and Technology and a doctorate in High Temperature Materials Technology in Aero Gas Turbines Engine applications. It is Dr. O’Donoghue passion for innovation and industrial oriented research in the field of metallurgy with applications areas in alloy development, recycling, automation, biomedical and aerospace. Impressively she is co-inventor on 6 patents, founder of a spin out company, has raised circa €3m of funding for these activities over the last 6 years and is published in journals including Journal of Cleaner Production, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics, Engineering Journal and Irish Environmental Protection Agency National Reports.
Dr. O’Donoghue is the co-ordinator of a European Innovation Partnership called BRAVO with over 40 international partners focused on value chain optimisation of the European Aluminium sector with respect to residues and by-product management. This is one of the larger partnerships sanctioned by the European Commission to address the challenges facing the European Raw Materials sector. Under her leadership, Votechnik is also a member of the EIP WEEE2020 in Brussels, the Inneon network, European Institute of Technology (EIT) Raw Material and sits on the board for Critical Raw Materials Platform. Dr. O Donoghue has successfully delivered the Revolv Project which is an Research and Innovation Piloting Action under EC H2020 programme which develop and launched the ALR3000 technology.
Her role involves leading and developing the technology development strategy for the market,engaging the industry stakeholders and cocreating the business strategy. Dr. O’Donoghue hold Research Fellow status with the University of Limerick and continues to keep her finger on the pulse regarding fundamental research covering lower TRL at university setting to higher TRL application and deployment of technology at the company level. Dr. O’Donoghue is research including LCDVAL project funded by the EPA on indium recovery, Al-source on CRM recovery from bauxite residue, Raw Materials Ireland on CRM national strategy for Ireland as well as undertaking battery recycling research and glass recycling from LCD.

is an Entrepreneur with a proven track record of success. As the founder of Energy engineering group Shannon Power Management (SPML) and being the Group Managing Director from 2008 – 2017, he presided over the business as it entered a number of new market and sectors from its Irish base. It evolved from a service provider to a complete solution provider for energy across a range of sectors including the natural resource sector, Petro chemical and Agriculture. SPM established Australia subsidiary of SPML, it had grown to a total turnover from $0 to $60 Million in 5 years before appointing a CEO in Australia and Paudy returned to Europe. Since Paudy returned to Europe he has been the project developer in a combined heat and power project. SPML Holding Ireland is also growing having won an energy project with Solar Turbines as a partner. SPML became the UK and Irish rep for the Solar Turbines and is proving solution on traditional Project Managing contracts and long terms Operations and maintenance contracts.
Paudy’s belief that sustainability of energy and resources are key to the future and his strength is building start-up focused on operation excellence (OE) lead Paudy to co-found a software company called RaptorPM which was classified as High Potential Start-up (HPSU) by Enterprise Ireland and is focused on OE with project and operation delivery. With an office based in University of Limerick is a melting pot for some of the best academic minds, Paudy got involved at an operation level with another exciting start-up Votechnik Technologies which is focused on primary and secondary natural
resources and delivering circular economy through innovation and technology.
With a real understanding how to build a company from a concept Paudy recognises that culture and leadership in a company are the real ingredient to delivering the best outcome in any company. His ability to communicate cross culture and industry make Paudy very versatile in business from raising project finance and company structuring to the technical challenges of projects and people management. He advised companies entering the every changing energy market about future proofing and has a keen interest in supporting start up’s at a practical level.

Chartered Engineer, founded Arthur Middleton Limited – AML (www.arthurmiddleton.ie) in 2004. AML is an automation and machine-design consultancy business, through which he continues to provide his services. He has 30 years’ experience in factory automation, machine design and product engineering in high, medium and low volume manufacturing industries.
Prior to 2004, Arthur worked as an engineer in Scotland and Australia, and since 1990, in Ireland. This was with companies manufacturing consumer products, aerospace devices and computer hardware. Among his achievements is the design and build of the world’s first fully automatic tennis ball assembly machine for Head-Penn Racquet Sports, saving in excess of US$5 million per annum.
Since forming Arthur Middleton Limited, his clients include Dell Computers, Festo, Hollister ULC, Modular Automation, Procter and Gamble, Quantum 3, Reconcile Engineering, TSM Control Systems, Vistakon and Yushin Automation.
The projects undertaken have included factory automation as well as complete product rangedesigns and other related fields. Major automation projects include automatic lifts for Dell, innovative solutions for Vistakon production line automation, a number of machines and solutions for Procter and Gamble and a medical device manufacturing concept design for Modular Automation. For Yushin, he designed a manufacturing cell for Ricoh print cartridge manufacture in England. Many smaller automation projects were also completed. Product range designs were for TSM Control Systems and Quantum 3. TSM produces machines for the plastics industry. Quantum 3’s range of aluminium machine frame components is now the biggest selling range in Ireland and is also exported to the UK.
For Festo, he provided Machinery Directive compliance training to their customers in addition to other services. Arthur Middleton attained Chartered Engineer status in 1991. He has a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a Master’s degree in Engineering Design from University
